Move Button
The move button is only available when a player is logged in and viewing a game he is participating in. The move button is actually one of 5 commands depending on the current phase of the game. The phases are:

  1. Orders for Spring
  2. Retreats for Spring
  3. Orders for Fall
  4. Retreats for Fall
  5. Adjustments for Fall

Orders (Spring/Fall):
When submitting orders you are presented with a list of all the territories your units are in, and columns to specify what you want each to do. There are 5 orders you can give. Some notes on each:

Retreats (Spring/Fall):
This is quite straight forward. If the move is invalid for whatever reason, it will be disbanded. The default for retreat is to disband.

Adjustments (Fall):
Specify units to add or to remove. The Defualt for adds is none, and the default for remove orders is determined randomly (and not according to the normal rules of furthest from supply centers in alphabetical order). If an invalid add order is submitted (such as a fleet in St. Petersburg South Coast when there is already an army in St. Petersburg) it may be ignored. It is (currently) possible to add a unit in an illegal location such as a fleet in Paris, but this is ill-advised since the unit will be stuck and unable to move at all.

Execute Phase:
This option is only available after the deadline expires. Select this option to execute the current phase. This action is logged in the Phase Execution Log.

Game Review
When a game is selected, the game review option appear. You do not have to be logged in to access the game review options. The game review options are:

Map Frame
When a game is selected, the map appears. The map has a date picker which allows you to review the history of the game. There are also several map display options. The standard Map is the default. It's the most browser compatible, and the quickest to load. The Planning Map has the special feature of allowing you to move the pieces around. This is strictly a planning aid that has no effect on the game. This only works only in IE5 and above. The Map w/Country Tags is helpful for new players who don't know the country to color associations.

Countdown Timer
The countdown timer indicates the remaining time before the current phase can be executed. When it expires, an "execute phase" button will become available. Note that the move button can continue to be used even after the countdown timer has expired, up until the phase is executed.
