Game
Settings
The following settings are recommended:
- Single Party.
- No PvP.
- You may need to turn the music down to hear the character voices.
- Under Graphic Options, set "Hide Second Story" to Never for optimal
scenery.
Special Rules
- This module pretty much follows the standard NWN ruleset.
- There are wandering monsters much like in Hordes of the Underdark, which may
appear when you rest. There are otherwise no restrictions on resting.
- There is no stone of recall.
Hints & Tips
- If you aren't sure how to use an item or object, be sure to look at its
description for additional information.
- Questioning certain NPC's via typed conversation will play a vital role in
completing your mission. Be sure to see the section entitled Communication
in the Book of Lore for helpful hints on this.
- There are a very few encounters in this module that are meant to be
undefeatable. Keep an eye out for these, and avoid the temptation to
attack something when you obviously can't defeat it. Remember that you can
look at the description of a creature to get additional information about it.
The Book of Lore
There is a "Book of Lore" that accompanies this module. This book serves
as an introduction to the world, and gives an overview of the land and it's
people and politics as well as other useful information. It is available
online here:
http://www.chasmgames.com/nwn/BookOfLore.htm
The Book of Lore is also included with the module download in Microsoft Word
format. The MS Word version has been slightly altered to be more suitable
for printing.
Starting items and the DMFI
When the game begins, players get the following "DMFI" items: a dice bag, an
emote wand, and an auto-follow widget. These items are part of the DMFI
set. See the DMFI page for more details.
